Rudra Kundu  -  Managing Director
Rudra has an MBA (majors in Finance and Marketing, and a minor in Economics) from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta; as well as BE (Electrical Engineering) from Bengal Engineering College, India.

Prior to relocating to India (in 2016) to lead the Adam Smith Associates team he was head of the Treasury and Structured Finance function for Nokia (previously Nokia Siemens Networks), based in Singapore and running a multi- country team across Asia- Pacific, China and India to handle treasury, financing, structured finance and sales support for the fast-growing businesses in these markets. Rudra has worked previously with Citibank (heading the branded consumer and pharmaceutical verticals for Citibank India), Cargill (structured trade finance) and ANZ Grindlays Bank (corporate banking).

Rudra has over 2 decades of experience in managing balance sheet risks, funding and liquidity, working with clients and sales teams to implement structured funding and risk management solutions to aid borrowing or sales, as well as interest rate / exchange rate opportunities.

Sandeep Gopalakrishnan  -  Head - Trade Finance and Client Coverage
Sandeep has been in the Trade Finance field for close to 15 years and has had experience across Multinational Banks and Indian Banks in various domains of Trade Finance including Operations, Service as well as Business Development.

He has an MBA from BIM Trichy and is also a Member of the Leader’s Excellence at Harvard Square. In his previous assignment, he was with IDFC Bank as part of the Transaction Banking & Multinational Corporates Team . Prior to that he was the Head - Transaction Banking, North & East India at ING Vysya Bank. He has also worked in the Trade Finance and Transaction banking verticals at Standard Chartered Bank and at HSBC.

Sunil K Goel  -  Project Export Financing
Mr. Goel is a Chartered Accountant (ICAI) and Company Secretary (ICSI). Prior to Adam Smith he was Executive Director in Samsung India Electronics Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of global digital technology leader, Samsung Electronics (headquartered in Seoul, Korea, top ranked amongst all Electronics brands and 8th amongst all brands).

At Samsung he spearheaded business operations encompassing Finance Function, Treasury, Internal Audit, Compliance, Taxation, Financial Restructuring, Commercial, Legal & Company Secretarial. Negotiated USD 170 million greed field project in Chennai with Govt. of Tamil Nadu. Executed Projects of over USD 460 million for factories in NOIDA & Chennai. Successfully merged Samsung Subsidiaries in India. Significant role in transition from Local ERP to Global ERP and IFRS. Handled gamut of activities encompassing Channel Finance, AR Insurance, AR Securitization & Incentive Management. Won the prestigious “Global Business Manager” award from Samsung Electronics Company, Korea.

V. K. Gupta  -  Policy
M.A., CAIIB – Formerly Deputy Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer State Bank of India (SBI) the largest Bank in India. He has extensive domain knowledge of receivable financing. He served as Managing Director SBI Factor & Commercial Services Ltd.

His assignments abroad:
 Chief Credit Officer: Bank of Bhutan, Phuntsholing - Joint Venture of SBI and Royal Govt. of Bhutan.
 President & CEO: SBI (California), Los Angeles

Having worked at SBI for 37 years Mr. Gupta has held senior positions in credit and banking.

Yoshio Watanabe  -  Head-Business Development (Japan and Asia Pacific Business)
Mr. Watanabe has been a career banker. He worked with ANZ Group for over three decades. He worked in ANZ Tokyo, ANZ Grindlays UAE as well as ANZ Grindlays Bank India. His last assignment in ANZ was Director Corporate & Institutional bank (ANZ Tokyo).

After Grindlays he joined IHI Infrastructure Systems CO Ltd. (IIS) Tokyo as Senior Counselor and General Manager. This company is responsible for Delhi-Mumbai dedicated freight corridor project. He is expert in international banking, international project finance and actively involved in sourcing two way business opportunities in the India Japan corridor.

K. Ganesan  -  Credit & Counter Party Exposure
He is an Engineer Graduate from REC, Chennai. He has previously worked at Punjab National Bank (PNB) for over 3 decades, mainly in the field of credit appraisal, credit monitoring and recovery. He is considered an industry expert in the field of distressed assets and has rendered his expertise to the Board of Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR). He has handled settlement negotiations on behalf of lenders.

Ashish Madan  -  Product Development
Msc Finance (Economic Policy) from S.O.A.S University of London. Additionally Master Of Finance & Control (MFC) University of Delhi, Bachelor Of Art (BA) Economics (Honours) University of Delhi. Ashish has about 20 years experience in trade finance. He has previously worked with Esanda Finance (ANZ Grindlays Banking Group), and Batlivala & Karani. He is a co-author of a famous book on Letters of Credit; "Documentary Letters Of Credit, A review of cases from the courts of India", published by LexisNexis.
